More than 200 DEWA staff members have been recognised for their effort in the second half of 2019.
HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA, and the authority’s executive vice presidents and vice presidents attended the ceremony.
“The efforts of the distinguished staff have contributed to strengthening DEWA’s leading position as one of the best and most efficient and distinguished utilities in the world,” said Al Tayer.
Al Tayer noted that one of DEWA’s key achievements last year was the UAE, represented by DEWA, maintaining first place in the world for getting electricity in the World Bank’s Doing Business 2020 report, which measures the ease of doing business in 190 economies around the world.
He added: “Achieving success and excellence is the goal of successful organisations. However, maintaining that success and continuing to stay at the top is the real challenge.
“Therefore, for us in DEWA, excellence is a daily work programme that is based on specific strategies and plans carried out by all staff.
“Through the Internal Excellence Awards, we intend to institutionalise a culture of excellence and implement the highest standards of organisational excellence across all operations and services.”
