A total of 76 projects were completed by Sharjah Directorate of Public Works (DPW) in the first quarter of 2020.
Costing in the region of $53million, developments form part of the emirate’s pursuit of ensure social welfare and economic wellbeing.
According to state-held news agency Wam, Engineer Ali Bin Shaheen Al Suwaidi, chairman of DPW, said the directorate is following up more than 400 projects currently under execution across various fronts, including construction, maintenance, earthen settlements, and supply of IT infrastructure services across all areas and cities of the Emirate.
He said: "Periodic maintenance is going at full tilt in over 360 governmental buildings through national contracting companies and engineering consultancies in sync with the government's prevention guidelines."
Al Suwaidi went on to add that developments follow DPW’s sustainability-driven vision and commitment to ensure sustainable provision of smart services.
