Work on installing electricity systems, telecommunications, water, drainage, and street lighting networks are continuing at the Razeen Labour Cities External Road and Infrastructure Construction project in Al Wathba South.
Some 60% of work has been signed off thus far, according to a statement from Abu Dhabi General Services Company (Musanada).
The $85million project involves the construction of a road and infrastructure servicing four existing labour cities, which each provide accommodation to more than 25,000 workers.
A noteable challenge was to relocate utilities obstructing the construction of the road, as was the provision of potable water and sewerage networks and the removal of the existing farms in the area.
More than 940 workers across 13 main and secondary contracts are currently deployed on site.
