The CEO of Arabtec Construction has resigned from his post.

"Boyd Merrett, chief executive officer of Arabtec Construction, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the group has resigned," Arabtec Holding confirmed in a statement.

"Mr Wail Farsakh, group chief operating officer, will assume the responsibilities of chief executive officer for Arabtec Construction until further notice."

The contractor has helped deliver iconic landmarks including the Burj Khalifa and the Louvre Museum in Abu Dhabi, but posted a Q2 net profit decline of 47% for 2019.
