HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of Dubai Water & Electricity Authority (DEWA), met with Consul General of the UK in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, Andrew Jackson, as part of the authority’s meetings with diplomats to foster bilateral relations, co-operation and exchange knowledge.
The pair spoke about the importance of increasing co-operation and advancing the contribution of British energy and water companies to projects in Dubai and the UAE.
HE Al Tayer also confirmed the role of the strategic co-operation between DEWA and British establishments in water, and renewable and clean energy.
The MD and CEO then presented DEWA’s current projects and strategic initiatives to support the vision of the wise leadership, stating that the authority’s strategy supports UAE Centennial 2071, UAE Vision 2021, and Dubai Plan 2021 to ensure a sustainable future.
DEWA operates as per the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050, with specific objectives to generate 75% of Dubai’s total power output from clean energy by 2050.
Jackson praised DEWA’s efforts to develop Dubai’s and the UAE’s energy sector.
He also commended DEWA’s services, which has resulted in its high ranking internationally.
