AECOM MEP was appointed as lead consultant and provided multi-disciplinary design services for the Abdali Hospital (CMC) in Amman for Maouj Investment and Development Company.
Following the design stage, the project was awarded as a design and build contract and the project has since been completed and commenced operation recently.
The client wished to deliver a new, high-end hospital that met the best international healthcare criteria for performance excellence. The hospital was constructed within the existing Abdali Residential Development.
The plot, identified by the client, had an existing residential structural frame as this original building was intended for residential use. A key aspect of the early MEP feasibility study was to establish whether this existing building frame could be successfully converted for hospital use.
AECOM MEP provided consultancy services in two stages; a feasibility study and design development.
Spread across 35 intricately constructed floors, Abdali Hospital has been carefully designed by leading architects, with intuitive, functional considerations for patient inflow and outflow, staff circulation and the segregation of inpatient and outpatient traffic.
