New professional engineer programmes announced for March, April

Dubai-based CPD workshops to cover 2D Design with AutoCAD, sustainable construction and gas turbine performance.

The University of Birmingham Dubai (UoBD) is running a series of professional development events in 2020.

The panel discussions, guest lectures and credit and non-credit bearing CPD will be delivered across a number of key strategic sectors by leading academics and experts in their fields.

A two-day AutoCAD workshop will run from 6 -7 March, designed for mechanical or civil engineers, architects or product designers who are interested in two-dimensional design.

A three-day Gas Turbine Performance workshop will also run from 26–28 March.

The UoBD is also running a 14-day Sustainable Construction Professional Development Programme, which will run from 29 March until 4 April, and from 19-25 April, and will be taught by Professor Ian Jefferson, Dr Dexter Hunt and Dr Richard Davies.

The module will introduce the concepts of sustainable design and construction and provide an understanding of the environmental implications of construction activity, as well as the tools designed to evaluate sustainability performance.

This series of professional development events, held at the University’s Academic City campus, is aimed at professionals looking to develop their skill sets for the workplace of the future.
