Last year, China State Construction Engineering Corporation (Middle East) (CSCEC ME) bagged the MEP Contractor of the Year award.
China State Construction Engineering Corporation (Middle East) (CSCEC ME) is in the market since 2003 delivering projects in three sectors - building, MEP and civil. The MEP Division of CSC (CSCMEP), executed a number of challenging projects various sectors such as residential, commercial, hospitality, healthcare and infrastructure.
Talking about the win, Zhu Jianchao, VP, chief engineer, China State Construction Engineering Corporation Middle East (CSCEC ME), said: “We are quite stable because our [principal] company is a main contractor and we are the MEP division. So we are doing quite well as a result of that and we are growing.
“As you can see, our presence has grown in the UAE over the last few years. We are quite busy and we will do more business in the UAE and the GCC region. We are taking up challenges as they come along and we will steam ahead.”

On 22 May 2019, CSCEC ME obtained a letter of award (LOA) from Deira Waterfront Development LLC for constructing the Deira Waterfront Development Phase 1 Plot 9 & 10 Project with approximate contractual value of AED430m (equivalent to $120m).
The project is located along Al Rasheed Road (Dubai Corniche), in close vicinity of some most famous local scenic spots, such as Dubai Museum, Gold Souk etc. The major scope of the project includes structural, MEP, fitting out, landscaping as well as other related external auxiliary works.
CSCMEP employs 347 management staff and more than 3,800 skilled and unskilled labourers. The tenure of CSCMEP management staff ranges from juniors to seasoned industry professionals with 30+ year’s construction experience.
CSCMEP procures almost 90% of its project delivery requirements locally or through local agencies, acting not only as a “client” but also creating awareness for technical enhancement of products and new features dictated by new construction challenges.
The CSCMEP management is keen in sharing its homeland experience of best practices with external stakeholders.
