A shift in attitudes towards environmentally-friendly building has also been touted as a significant driving factor for market segment growth. The report stated: “Introduction of local green building codes like Estidama in Abu Dhabi and Sa’fat in Dubai, and international equivalent systems like LEED and BREEAM, has led manufacturers to utilise construction material which is more recyclable.

“This is further likely to propel the plastic pipe and fittings industry towards innovation and research for environment friendly materials.

“The revenue share of organised players is likely to further increase owing to the expected capacity expansion by the leading players in the market.

“Entry of some small scale manufacturers and traders is also likely to take place, which will further promote import and export of plastic pipes and fittings from the UAE.

“Real estate and infrastructural development, industrial growth, growth in public sector spending, and rise in private investments are the major factors that are likely to drive the market in the future.”

Meanwhile, growing adoption of PVC pipes has led experts to predict that the global market will swell at a CAGR of 4%.

A study by Report Linker stated: “Some of the superior properties of PVC pipes include excellent chemical resistance, abrasive resistance, temperature resistance, resistance to wear and tear, UV resistance, load-bearing capacity, and dimensional stability at room temperature.

“Also, its unique physical properties such as versatility, strength, and high ductility of PVC pipes makes it ideal for use in applications including plumbing, HVAC, irrigation, oil and gas, sewerage, and water supply.

“They are extensively used in oil and gas and irrigation industries because they can be easily installed and are light in weight.
