Sharjah Police and Municipality are co-hosting a month-long awareness campaign centered around a spike in thefts of materials from construction sites.

Inspections will also be conducted by joint teams in an attempt to curb rising trends.

Brigadier-general Mohammad Rashid Bayat, director-general of police operations, said: "The campaign comes within the framework of the strategic plan of the Ministry of Interior, aimed at enhancing public security and safety, by raising community awareness of negative phenomena."
