Engineering Contracting Company (ECC) has become the first contractor in the UAE to receive the BIM ISO Certification from BSI.
Back in 2018, ECC – of which United Masters Electromechanical is a subsidiary - became one of the first locally grown companies to receive the BIM Kitemark Certification from BSI.
And now, continuing on the path of innovation, the company has developed an organic BIM department internally, setting precedence in the market for the adoption, implementation, and certification of BIM ISO standards in the UAE.
Ahmed Elhadidy, technical and BIM manager of ECC Group, said: “Our company’s ethos is to deliver sustainable, efficient cutting-edge solutions to our clients by staying abreast of international industry standards.
“Since our inception in 1975, we have set a benchmark in the market for high quality, value-engineered projects and are continuing in the same path of excellence.
“Sustainable growth in a competitive market requires the earliest possible adoption of new technologies and systems to remain cost-effective and efficient – a principle ECC has adopted across all facets of our operation to become a lean company.”
BIM is an intelligent 3D model-based platform that provides users with insights or tools for architecture, engineering and construction.
It ensures that all processes are adaptable, flexible and carried out in the most efficient manner possible.
Project clashes or inconsistencies in design, materials and their quantities are realised in earlier stages of the project, making BIM invaluable in coordinating information across departments.
