The number of licenses issued for the UAE's construction and building sector increased 13.2% in the first half of 2019, according to the National Economic Register.

State held news agency Wam reports that the number of licensees issued rose to 634 year-on-year in H1, with other industry’s reporting similar growth.

Meanwhile, the light transport sector recorded a 42% increase with 328 licences issued, with the heavy truck transport sector growing by almost a third (29%).

The collective number of licences issued for the top 10 economic activities in the UAE was recorded at 3,976 for the year thus far.

Membership at the Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry was recently reported to have swelled to 240,000 between January and July 2019.
