Evapco has clinched the US Commercial Service’s Export Achievement Certificate for a US$2.5 million order for evaporative cooling equipment and ice thermal storage destined for China. The award was presented by US Commerce Secretary Gary Locke at the International District Energy Association’s (IDEA’s) 100th Centennial Conference and Exhibition in Washington in the US.
“An IDEA member company has achieved remarkable success in a key market, namely China,” said Locke. “These exports were supported by engineering and ice storage design work done in the US, a perfect example of the kind of secure, well-paying jobs that will be created in America in a new clean-energy economy.”
IDEA has worked with the US Commercial Service for several years to help its members leverage export opportunities in the growing district energy markets in China and the Middle East. Evapco is the latest success story resulting from that collaboration.
Evapco VP: international Gary Rugel expressed his gratitude for the award. “I thank IDEA, which has given Evapco the opportunity to present itself and its products on a global platform throughout the world, and the Department of Commerce, which has helped Evapco open doors to both customers and governmental agencies throughout China, Asia and the Middle East.
“Evapco has worked hard to be a good global citizen. However, our customers determine our ultimate success, and we are fortunate to have so many loyal customers who continue to support our global growth throughout all of our markets served. Without our customers, we would not be here today and a global leader in our industry.”
