Drake & Scull International PJSC (DSI) is expanding its existing infrastructure, water and power (IWP) operation to encompass infrastructure solutions for the telecoms sector. This is a natural progression that complements the company’s existing portfolio of utilities infrastructure, said DSI IWP executive director Tawfiq Abu Soud.
DSI’s entry into the telecoms sector will diversify its business even further and contribute to recurring baseline revenue through value propositions, dedication, quality and customer commitment.
“We have over 40 years’ experience in the construction industry, and the creation of our IWP operation in the last few years has seen an expansion of our capabilities and market offering,” explained Abu Soud.
“Our engineering knowledge and experience, combined with our service capacity, geographical reach and financial strength, allow us to expand the DSI brand into new areas. We are very excited about our new venture, and are looking forward to being involved in the development of essential infrastructure that serves the ever-growing population.”
To oversee DSI’s planned expansion, the company has recruited Nick Di-Marcello as GM to establish and develop the business. Holding previous executive positions with telecom operators, equipment vendors and telecom service companies across the globe, Di-Marcello brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the company.

DSI’s telecom operation will be based in its Dubai head office. Services will be offered in the whole of the MENA region, initially focusing on the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Jordan, Oman, Egypt, Libya, Sudan and Algeria. The company will offer full turnkey services built around its core strengths in the design, civil, mechanical and electrical fields.
