The ASHRAE event will take place in Doha from 26 to 28 September.

The ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers) Qatar Oryx Chapter is to host its regional conference and technical programme in Doha on September 26-28 at the Marriott Hotel.

Based on the theme of “Effect of Future Technologies in HVAC Systems on Environment and Energy Conservation”, the conference is expected to attract some of the world’s most prominent sustainability scientists, engineers and policy makers.

The chapter regional conference (CRC) is an annual event designed for all regional ASHRAE chapters to connect and discuss the organisation, with each chapter sending a delegate member, an alternate member and five committee’s chairs to attend the CRC.

“Although ASHRAE began in America, over the decades it has expanded tremendously across the globe, where international members all over the world represent a significant role and importance to the society,” said Mutasim Al Ghadir, grassroot chair of ASHRAE Qatar.

“Qatar Oryx Chapter is part of the Region at Large which includes Falcon UAE, Mumbai, Nigeria, Cairo, Bahrain, Chennai, Hellenic, India, Kuwait, Lebanon, Central Pakistan, North Pakistan, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Pune, Hydrabad, South India, Sri Lanka, Western India, and Portugal," he added.

"We have been very active in our region in the past years and were successfully chosen to host 2013 CRC conference which, in my opinion, with the efforts put in by the chairman and the organisational team, is going to be spectacular."

CRC chairman Hassan Sultan said that he was privileged to invite his fellow ASHRAE members to Doha and that the event would mark an important transition for the society.

“ASHRAE Qatar Oryx Chapter has the honour of hosting for the first time the Region At Large Chapter’s Conference in Doha this year,” said Sultan.

“Doha has much to offer from the technical programme to social events. One more year has passed since we met in Sri Lanka and it is time to pass the torch to the next group of leaders. It is my pleasure on behalf of the ASHRAE Qatar Oryx Chapter to host and welcome all to Doha CRC,” he added.
