UAE grants 10-year visa to Aztec Group's Anoop Moopen

The Indian chairman and managing director of contracting company AZTEC Group has been presented a Gold Card 10-year visa.

Anoop Moopen is one of the first recipients of the visa following the official announcement of the permanent residency scheme in May.

The businessman's wife and two children also received long-term resident status, as reported in UAE’s state-held news agency Wam.

"It is an honour to receive this residency status as an appreciation for my efforts towards the development of the real estate and healthcare sector in the region,” said Moopen, who is also a director of Aster DM Healthcare Group.

“This gesture strengthens the fact that His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, vice president, prime minister and ruler of Dubai, and the government of UAE believe in the work I do and in my vision to further contribute to the development of this beautiful country."

As of June, at least 400 “outstanding” expatriates, including business leaders, have so far received the Gold Card, the General Directorate of Residency & Foreigners Affairs confirmed.
