MEP-firm Emirates Falcon Engineering Company (EFECO), a fully owned subsidiary of Arabtec Holding, gathered at a ceremony this month to mark 25 million man-hours without a lost-time incident (LTI).

Commenting on the achievement, Gavin Appleby, managing director of EFECO, said: “This milestone demonstrates our dedication and unwavering commitment to health and safety. Such an achievement reflects the successful outcomes of our robust risk management approach which puts health and safety at the forefront of our operations. Combining these tools with the dedication of each of our employees and contractors enables us to empower our team to deliver operational excellence with the highest standards.”

An excerpt from Lloyds Register Audit Report stated: “The company has shown noticeable performance achieving zero LTI's for the past two years. Those achievements could not be esteemed without commitment and implementation of health and safety management system that really supports company's business goals and reflects on company's reputation”.

The key drivers of EFECO’s strategy going forward is to reduce the Accident Frequency Rate and Lost Time Injury Frequency Rate. Furthermore, the company looks to increase overall customer satisfaction and reduce the environmental impact of its operations.

As part of EFECO’s yearly review, the senior management team underwent an evaluation of its QSHE policy, performance and compliance to ensure it is in accordance with best practices regionally and globally. This allows for an ongoing effort to improve, innovate and excel.

EFECO has completed several projects such as DIFC Gate Village, Palazzo Versace, Conrad Hotel, Dubai T2 Airport Extension and Nation Towers in Abu Dhabi. Across these iconic projects among many others, EFECO continues to demonstrate its ongoing commitment to the prevention of work-related injuries, compliance with legal, contractual and industry standards, maintaining quality assurance and a safe, healthy environment to work in that is sustainable, the company said.
