Arabian MEP Contracting is investing heavily to build a large, fully-integrated facility for pre-fabricating a range of MEP materials for its operations, according to CEO Vasanth Kumar.
The company has been allocated a large piece of land in Doha’s new industrial area and construction will begin at the beginning of 2013. It is expected to be complete within a year.
The investment is designed to help the company prepare for upcoming mega projects associated with the 2022 World Cup and Qatar National Vision 2030.
“We are working on the drawings and the layouts at the minute,” said Vasanth Kumar, CEO of Arabian MEP Contracting. “It will be a large fabrication, assembly and testing facility dedicated to MEP sector, which will cater to our operations for all items except major equipments,” he added.
Kumar says the move is necessary because of the large size of the jobs the company is undertaking and the compressed timescales of projects.
"Since pre-fabrication is done under factory-controlled conditions, we can offer consistent high quality throughout the project at minimum lead times, which means less manpower on site and higher productivity. Pre-fabrication is the future,” he said.
